At Happy Tails, we offer one-to-one dog walking adventure services or ‘sniffaris’in the stunning countryside and along scenic beaches. Whether your dog loves a peaceful solo walk or enjoys exploring with canine companions, we provide enriching outdoor experiences tailored to their needs. Our adventures allow dogs to roam, play, and enjoy fresh air in safe, picturesque locations. What is a sniffari? It's a mashup of the words sniff and safari letting your dog go on a sniffing journey is in the name. They are done on a long (ish) lead, so your dog has optimal space to zigzag and follow scents. They get to lead the way going wherever they please. Benefits of a sniffari? To appreciate the value of sniffing for a dog, let's first marvel at their sniffing superpower. Did you know that a dog's sense of smell is 10,000 to 100,000 times more sensitive than a human’s? Dogs have up to 300 million smell receptors, compared to a human’s 5 million. That's why sniffing is so essential for them - it's how they perceive the world. Benefits • Mental stimulation: Sniffing engages the brain, helping your dog interprets the complex world around them. • Reduces Stress: Sniffing can be calming and reduce stress. • Physical exercise: it may not seem like much, but sniffing around can also be a form of light exercise. Studies have shown that 10 minutes of sniffing is the equivalent to one hour of walking. With live tracking, you’ll have real-time updates on your pet’s journey, giving you peace of mind. After each walk, you'll receive a personalised summary, detailing highlights from their adventure, including activities and any special moments.
